One of our latest applications made\u00a0scratch testing\u00a0of complex coating much easier to achieve and increased throughput by several orders of magnitude.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Programmable landing force<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xyztec.com\/products\/tools-tweezer-micro-grippers\/\">Sigma\u00a0shear sensors<\/a> include a vertical force sensor that provides its unique programmable landing force feature. For\u00a0scratch testing this enables the scratch force to be controlled and synchronously measured together with the horizontal shear force. This provides the control needed for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.xyztec.com\/test-types\/scratch.php\">scratch testing<\/a>\u00a0including the 3 standard procedures;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bulletimg\">\n<li>Progressive Load Scratch Test (PLST)<\/li>\n<li>Constant Load Scratch Test (CLST)<\/li>\n<li>Multipass Scratch Test (MPST)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As with any scratch tester the quality of the bond between layers can be seen in the failure mode and force displacement graph.
